Bahir Dar Meets Dallas
BORNE began its journey in 2016 with American diaspora and doctors journeying to Bahir Dar Ethiopia. The past year, 2019, marked unprecedented moments for the initiative. This is because on October 24, 2019, at 11 o’clock in the morning, 2 people touched down at Dallas Fort-Worth International Airport. Those people came from Bahir Dar University in Bahir Dar, Ethiopia. They are Dr. Zewdu Emiru, the Bahir Dar University VP of Information and Strategic Communication and Dr. Yeshigeta Gelaw, the Bahir Dar University VP and Chief Executive Director of the College of Medicine and Health Sciences.
Dr. Zewdu and Dr. Yeshigeta came for a weekend of exchange, from medical knowledge transfer to cultural tradition swaps. Here’s what happened in those 4 days.
